What is an AC transformer?
A transformer is for lowering electrical voltage. A transformer consists of magnetically linked coils. If alternating current is sent through one of the coils, the other coil generates the desired output voltage. This also allows the current to remain small at high voltages.
Multilight delivers a transformer 230V/24V AC of 50 Watts, 250 Watts and 600 Watts, converting the standard 230-volt power voltage to a lower 24-volt alternating voltage.
What is a DC LED driver?
An LED driver is a power supply for LED systems. An LED often works on direct current (DC) and therefore an LED needs a constant voltage to function properly. LED drivers usually give a constant voltage, such as an LED driver 5V, LED driver 12V, LED driver 24V or an LED driver 36V. Furthermore, there are LED drivers that are specially tuned for specific LED light sources.
Multilight uses in its lighting objects among others LED spots and LED strip lights. Depending on the type, LED spots operate at 230-volt AC or 12-volt DC. An LED strip light works at 12-volts or 24-volt DC.
Multilight delivers LED drivers of 230V/5V, 230V/12V, 230V/24V and 230V/36V with a power of:
- 35 Watt;
- 60 Watt;
- 100 Watt;
- 200 Watt;
- 240 Watt;
- 320 Watt.
